Their work in the film industry centered on production design, a role that shapes the visual framework of a film’s narrative and atmosphere.
Borisov contributed to two notable Soviet-era productions. In 1975, they served as production designer for The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!, a comedy-drama directed by Eldar Ryazanov that became a cultural landmark in Russian cinema. Their work continued in 1977 with Office Romance, another Ryazanov-directed film, where they again handled production design. These projects reflect Borisov’s involvement in crafting the visual identity of films during this period.
