Biography
Alex McDowell was born on April 1, 1955, in Borneo, Malaysia. Known for contributions to art in cinema, McDowell is recognized for production design work across a range of films. In 1996, McDowell served as production designer for Fear. The following year, McDowell contributed production design to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. In 1998, McDowell worked on Fight Club as production designer. In 1999, McDowell again served as production designer for Fight Club.
McDowell’s production design credits continued in the 2000s with Minority Report in 2002. In 2005, McDowell designed the production for two films: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Corpse Bride.
