Andrew Hartel

Andrew Hartel is credited in the visual development department for two animated films. Hartel contributed to the visual design process for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), a feature that blends comic-book aesthetics with motion-capture techniques. The work involved shaping the film’s distinctive color palettes, character silhouettes, and stylized environments to enhance its comic-inspired look.

In 2022, Hartel again served in visual development for The Sea Beast, an animated adventure film. In this role, Hartel helped define the film’s visual language, including the design of its sea creatures and maritime settings. The department’s contributions are integral to establishing the film’s tone and atmosphere before final animation and rendering.
