Ayaz Guluzada (born 12 March 2004, Baku) is an Azerbaijani indie filmmaker. He graduated with a degree in Marketing from the Azerbaijan State University of Economics and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Film and Television Management at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts.

He graduated with a degree in Marketing from the Azerbaijan State University of Economics and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Film and Television Management at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts.
Ayaz developed a deep interest in cinema from a young age, but he made the decision to pursue filmmaking seriously in 2023 after watching Once Upon a Time in Anatolia by Nuri Bilge Ceylan — a turning point that inspired him to express his own voice through film.
His early works — Pawn (2023), Maladaptive (2023), Dan (2024), and Anti-Theatre (2024) — were created as experimental tests to gain experience in directing, editing, and visual storytelling with limited resources. These no-budget shorts help…
