Biography
Benjamin Viau is credited as a Foley recordist on two feature films. In 2009, Viau worked on the French crime drama A Prophet, contributing to the film’s sound design through Foley techniques that reproduce everyday sound effects in synchronization with the visuals. The work involved layering and timing recorded footsteps, fabric rustles, and other ambient noises to enhance the realism of on-screen actions without altering dialogue or score.
Viau returned to Foley recording for the 2019 French drama Curiosa, again handling the craft’s practical layering of sound elements to match the film’s visual and narrative cues.
