He began his career as a camera operator, contributing to notable films such as "White Mane" in 1953. Séchan's work spanned over three decades, during which he served as the Director of Photography for several films, including "The Gendarme in New York" in 1965. He continued to make significant contributions to cinema, notably working on the "The Party" series, serving as the Director of Photography for both "The Party" in 1980 and "The Party 2" in 1982. Séchan's career came to an end with his passing on June 7, 2002.
