He began his career in the film industry as an associate producer for the 2000 Danish musical drama "Dancer in the Dark," directed by Lars von Trier. Gjerdrum's first role as a producer came with the 2008 Norwegian thriller "Troubled Water," directed by Erik Poppe. He has since worked on several notable films, including the 2016 Irish drama "My Name Is Emily," where he served as co-producer, and the 2019 American thriller "Cold Pursuit," produced by Gjerdrum.
