Franziska Troegner, born on July 18, 1954, in Berlin, Germany, is an actress known for her roles in German television movies and series. Her most prominent role in international cinema was that of Mrs. Gloop in the 2005 film "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." Troegner's character, the overindulgent mother of Augustus Gloop, was a memorable part of the Tim Burton-directed adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic novel. More recently, she took on the role of Grandmother in the 2025 film "About Luis."
