In 1924, Gabourie served as the art director for "Sherlock Jr.," a comedy-drama directed by Buster Keaton. Four years later, in 1927, Gabourie took on the position of technical supervisor for "College," a romantic comedy directed by James W. Horne. This role involved overseeing the technical aspects of the production, ensuring the smooth operation of the film's technical elements.
