Goetzman co-founded the production company Playtone with actor Tom Hanks. Under this banner, he produced several films, including the animated feature "The Polar Express" in 2004 and the live-action adaptation of the children's book "Where the Wild Things Are" in 2009. His producing credits also include "Amos & Andrew" in 1993 and "Beloved" in 1998.
