George López is an American actor and voice performer born April 23, 1961 in Mission Hills, California. Known primarily for stand-up comedy and television hosting, López has also contributed to animated and family-oriented films through voice work. In 2011, López provided the voice of Rafael in the animated feature Rio. That same year, López voiced the character Grouchy Smurf in The Smurfs. López returned as Rafael in the 2014 sequel Rio 2. In 2013, López voiced Grouchy Smurf again in The Smurfs 2, and also voiced the character Thurman in Escape from Planet Earth. López continued voice acting in family films with a role as Pablo the Parrot in Cats & Dogs 3: Paws Unite, released in 2020.
