He passed away on August 13, 1946. Wells is notably recognized for his contributions to cinema through his literary works, with his novel "War of the Worlds" being adapted into films. The first notable adaptation was in 2005, titled "H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds," and later in 2025, simply as "War of the Worlds."
