Rebhorn's notable film credits include "Basic Instinct" (1992) where he played Dr. McElwaine, "Carlito's Way" (1993) as Norwalk, and "The Talented Mr. Ripley" (1999) in which he portrayed Herbert Greenleaf. He also appeared in "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" (2012) as Joseph Crudstaff. At the time of his death, Rebhorn had recurring roles in the television series "White Collar" and "Homeland."
