Biography
James Y. Kwei worked in film editing and post-production, contributing to projects across different roles. Early in their career, Kwei served as an assistant editor on the 1985 film After Hours, supporting the editorial team during the film’s production. This role involved organizing footage, syncing audio, and assisting the lead editor to maintain workflow efficiency.
By 1996, Kwei had advanced to the position of editor on Grace of My Heart, taking full responsibility for assembling the film’s final cut. This work required selecting and arranging scenes, pacing the narrative, and ensuring continuity to align with the director’s vision.
