Jay Scherick is a screenwriter known for his work in the film industry. He is credited with writing the screenplay for "The Smurfs" (2011), a live-action/CGI hybrid comedy film based on the popular Belgian comic series of the same name. Scherick returned to the franchise for "The Smurfs 2" (2013), this time contributing to the story. In 2021, he wrote the screenplay for "Clifford the Big Red Dog," a live-action family film based on the children's book series by Norman Bridwell.
