Born on June 20, 1957 in Rosario, Argentina, Macat has contributed to a range of productions as a lighting camera operator and director of photography. Among the titles in their filmography are the 2012 animated feature Wreck-It Ralph, where they handled lighting camera duties, and the 1990 family comedy Home Alone, for which they served as director of photography. Macat also photographed the 2012 musical comedy Pitch Perfect and the 2002 romantic drama A Walk to Remember. Their credits further include the 2016 comedy Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life as director of photography.
