Born in New York City on November 21, 1896, De Packh contributed to the soundtrack of several American Westerns in the late 1940s and 1950s. In 1949, De Packh served as orchestrator on Colorado Territory, a film directed by Raoul Walsh. The following decade, De Packh held the same role on Blood Alley, released in 1955, and on Rio Bravo in 1959.
De Packh’s work focused on arranging and overseeing musical elements within these productions. As orchestrator, De Packh adapted and prepared scores for recording, coordinating between composers, musicians, and sound engineers.
