Michael Horton, known professionally as Mike Horton or Michael J. Horton, is a New Zealand-born film editor. Born in Lower Hutt, Wellington, Horton's work in cinema spans over two decades, with notable credits in both editing and directing roles.
Horton's editing career began in the 1980s, with his first credited role as the second unit director in the 1983 film "Nate and Hayes". He transitioned into editing with "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" in 2002, working alongside renowned director Peter Jackson. Horton's editing skills played a significant role in bringing to life the epic fantasy sequences in this Middle Earth saga.
