Michelle Child is credited in the sound department of several English-language science-fiction films. In 2013, Child worked as a Sound Effects Editor on Elysium, contributing to the film’s layered audio environment. The role involved creating and refining non-sync sound elements that support the narrative and visuals, such as environmental textures and mechanical accents.
Child returned to the genre in 2016 as Sound Designer on Arrival, where the focus shifted to designing the film’s acoustic landscape, including alien communication sounds and ambient cues that align with the story’s themes.
