Poon Hang-Sang is a cinematographer whose work has contributed to notable films in Chinese cinema. Born in Hong Kong, China, Poon Hang-Sang is credited as the Director of Photography on several well-known productions. Among these is the 1987 fantasy romance A Chinese Ghost Story, a film recognized for its visual style and atmospheric storytelling. In 1991, Poon Hang-Sang again served as Director of Photography for Center Stage, a biographical drama that highlights the life of a prominent actress.
Poon Hang-Sang’s collaboration with director Tsui Hark on A Chinese Ghost Story helped define the film’s distinctive look, blending traditional Chinese aesthetics with cinematic techniques of the period.
