Biography
Réal Proulx is credited with contributions to art direction in two feature films. In 1998, Proulx served as art director for Snake Eyes, a crime thriller directed by Brian De Palma. The film centers on a gambling inspector who becomes entangled in a conspiracy following a murder at a boxing match. Proulx’s work on the production involved shaping the visual environment to support the narrative’s tension and atmosphere.
Proulx later worked on The Day After Tomorrow, a 2004 disaster film directed by Roland Emmerich. The movie depicts a sudden global climate shift and the ensuing efforts to survive the extreme conditions. As art director, Proulx contributed to the design and realization of sets and environments that reflected the film’s apocalyptic setting.
