Ric Waite was an American camera professional born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on July 10, 1933. Working under the names Ric Waite, Richard Waite, and Ric Wait, Waite contributed to film projects as a director of photography, shaping visual style and technical execution on set.
Waite’s credited film work includes 48 Hrs. and Red Dawn. In these productions, Waite operated in the camera department, responsible for managing lighting, lens selection, and shot composition to achieve the intended visual look. The role required collaboration with directors and other crew members to translate scripted scenes into filmed images.
Waite died on February 18, 2012. The cinematographer’s work appeared in multiple productions across film and television during a career spanning several decades.
