Biography
Richard Marks, born on November 10, 1943, in New York City, was an American film editor known for his work on several notable films. He passed away on December 31, 2018. Marks' career spanned over three decades, with more than 30 editing credits to his name, primarily in feature films.
Marks' work includes editing Francis Ford Coppola's epic crime drama "The Godfather Part II" (1974), for which he is perhaps best known. He also co-edited Sidney Lumet's "Serpico" (1973), a gripping crime film based on a true story. Marks' collaboration with director James L. Brooks began with "Terms of Endearment" (1983), a heartwarming drama that won several Academy Awards.
