Biography
Robert Florey was born in Paris on September 14, 1900. Known professionally as Florian Roberts, Florey worked primarily as a director in cinema. Florey contributed to the film Bride of Frankenstein in 1935, credited with developing its story.
Florey’s career extended beyond directing into screenwriting and film journalism. Early in the 1920s, Florey began in film journalism before moving into assistant roles and acting in short featurettes. Florey later relocated to the United States, where Florey continued working in the film industry.
Florey died on May 16, 1979. Florey’s work remains recognized within the context of mid-20th century filmmaking, particularly for contributions to genre storytelling.
