Biography
Shinya Hasegawa is a Japanese animator born on July 28, 1968 in Tokyo. Hasegawa began their career in the animation industry, contributing to key animation work on the 1992 film Dragon Ball Z: The Return of Cooler. Their involvement in the film industry continued with roles in Digimon: The Movie from 2000, again serving as key animation.
In 1999, Hasegawa took on a more prominent position as Animation Director for Revolutionary Girl Utena: The Movie. Their work in this capacity reflects a progression from key animation roles to leadership in animation direction within the Japanese animation sector. Hasegawa has been affiliated with J.C.Staff, having previously worked at Ashi Productions and Toei Douga, now known as Toei Animation.
