Sohei Tanikawa is a Japanese cinematographer born in Saitama on January 1, 1962. Active in film since at least 2008, Tanikawa has contributed to projects recognized for their visual style and technical precision. Tanikawa served as Director of Photography on Prisoners of the Ghostland, a 2021 release noted for its stark imagery and controlled color palette. Earlier, Tanikawa collaborated on Love Exposure in 2008, a film that gained attention for its long takes and layered compositions.
