Somrak Khamsing was born on January 16, 1973 in Khon Kaen, Thailand. Prior to entering film work, Khamsing had a background in combat sports, competing at an elite level in amateur boxing and Thai kickboxing. This athleticism later informed their approach to on-screen roles, lending a physical presence to their performances.
Khamsing’s transition into cinema began with the 2008 film Soi Cowboy, in which they appeared as the character Uncle. The role marked their debut in the industry, contributing to the film’s portrayal of Bangkok’s nightlife and underworld. Their presence in the production added a layer of authenticity to the narrative, drawing on their prior experience in competitive sports.
