Biography
Stephen H. Burum was born on November 25, 1939 in Visalia, California, USA. Working primarily as a camera operator and director of photography, Burum contributed to several notable productions across different genres. In 1979, Burum served as Second Unit Director of Photography on Apocalypse Now. The following decade saw Burum take on the role of Director of Photography for films including The Outsiders in 1983, St. Elmo's Fire in 1985, and The War of the Roses in 1989.
Burum continued his work as Director of Photography in the 1990s, collaborating on Carlito's Way in 1993 and Snake Eyes in 1998.
