Biography
Stuart Penn is a visual effects supervisor at Framestore. Before entering the world of visual effects, Stuart spent a decade as a research physicist specializing in superconductors and dielectric materials. During this time, he established a new research department at London South Bank University, where he led pioneering academic work in the field.
Since leaping VFX, Stuart has contributed to some of cinema’s most iconic films and franchises. His credits include Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and Alfonso Cuarón’s Academy Award-winning Gravity, where he played a key role in developing the groundbreaking techniques used to simulate zero gravity—working with motion control robotics and an advanced LED lighting stage.
