Sydney Lassick was an American character actor active in film during the mid-1970s. Born on July 22, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois, Lassick appeared in two notable feature films. In 1975, Lassick portrayed Charlie Cheswick in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, a role that remains his most recognized credit. The film, based on Ken Kesey’s novel, is widely regarded for its ensemble cast and psychological drama set in a psychiatric hospital.
In 1976, Lassick appeared as Mr. Fromm in Carrie, a film adaptation of Stephen King’s novel. The movie, directed by Brian De Palma, is known for its blend of horror and drama centered on a high school student with telekinetic abilities. Lassick’s work in these films contributed to his brief but documented presence in American cinema during that decade.
