Bateson continued to appear in films throughout his career, often taking on supporting roles. In 2005, he portrayed the Parson and a Man with a Punch in the film "Oliver Twist". His final on-screen appearance was in 2007, voicing the character of Kreacher in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix". Bateson passed away on September 16, 2009.
