Toru Takemitsu, born on October 8, 1930 in Tokyo, Japan, was a prominent figure in the film industry. He is recognized for his work as a composer, contributing to numerous films throughout his career. Takemitsu's notable filmography includes "Harakiri" (1962), for which he composed the original music, and "Dodes'ka-den" (1970), where he was responsible for the film's music. He also composed the original music for "Inn of Evil" (1971) and "The Song of the Bwana Toshi" (1965), and contributed music to "The Last Judgment" (1965). Takemitsu's work spans over ninety films, demonstrating his significant impact on Japanese cinema.
