In 1973, Fields served as the editor for American Graffiti, handling the assembly and pacing of the film’s scenes to shape its narrative flow. In 1975, Fields took on the role of Second Unit Director for Jaws, overseeing the filming of scenes that did not require the main cast or full production setup.
