Virginia Hammond was an American actor active in the silent film era. Born on August 18, 1893 in Staunton, Virginia, Hammond appeared in two films during the 1910s. In 1916, Hammond took the role of Mrs. Upperwon in the drama Vultures of Society. The film, produced during the silent era, featured Hammond in a supporting capacity within its narrative structure. Three years later, in 1919, Hammond appeared in The World to Live In, portraying the character Carrie Billings. The film continued Hammond’s brief but documented presence in early American cinema.
