Ishida is perhaps best known for her role as San, the wolf-girl protagonist, in the critically acclaimed animated film "Princess Mononoke" (1997), directed by Hayao Miyazaki. She has also voiced Miki Hokuto in "From Up on Poppy Hill" (2011) and Julia in "Fist of the North Star: Legend of Raoh - Chapter of Fierce Fighting" (2007). Her most recent role is that of Azusa Akatsuka in the upcoming film "Tokyo MER: Nankai Mission" (2025). Ishida's sister, Hikari Ishida, is also an actress.
