Frank McGlynn Sr.

Frank McGlynn Sr. was an American character actor born on October 26, 1866, in San Francisco, California. Before entering the film industry, McGlynn worked as a practicing lawyer, having graduated from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. His stage career began in 1896, marking the start of a performing career that would later extend to cinema.

McGlynn is best known for portrayals of historical figures in films from the 1930s and 1940s. One of his notable credits is the 1936 film The Plainsman, in which McGlynn appeared as Abraham Lincoln. His work in the industry focused on character roles, often drawing on his stage experience to bring recognizable figures to the screen.
