Biography
Fred Nurney was born on May 11, 1895 in Des Moines, Iowa. Active in film during the 1940s, Nurney appeared in two credited roles. In Five Graves to Cairo, Nurney took the uncredited part of Major Lamprecht. The film, directed by Billy Wilder, remains recognized in cinema history.
Nurney’s later work included Notorious, also directed by Wilder, where Nurney played John Huberman in an uncredited appearance. His contributions to these productions were part of ensemble casts in mid-century Hollywood. Nurney died on September 9, 1973.
