Hōsei Komatsu was born on November 4, 1926 in Nagano, Nagano, Japan. Komatsu worked in the film industry, contributing to several notable productions during the 1970s and early 1980s. In 1973, Komatsu appeared in Lady Snowblood as Genzô Shibayama, a role that contributed to the film’s distinctive atmosphere. The following year, Komatsu took on the role of Serizawa Kamo in The Last Swordsman, further establishing a presence in period and action-driven narratives.
In 1981, Komatsu provided voice acting for the character Oyakata in Yuki, demonstrating versatility across different mediums within cinema.
