Biography
Shin Ōtomo was born on April 13, 1919 in Akita Prefecture, Japan. Ōtomo appeared in several Japanese films during the 1950s and 1960s, primarily in supporting roles. In 1957, Ōtomo portrayed Policeman Kawada in The Mysterians. The film, a science fiction production by Toho, featured Ōtomo in a minor but notable law enforcement role.
In 1961, Ōtomo took on the role of a Driver in Playboy President: Part II, a comedy film. His performance contributed to the film’s ensemble cast, which included comedic actors in a lighthearted narrative. Three years later, in 1963, Ōtomo appeared as a Government Official in Atragon, another Toho production. The film, part of the kaiju genre, included Ōtomo in a brief but recognizable bureaucratic role.
