Daniel Olbrychski, born on February 27, 1945, in Lowicz, Lódzkie, Poland, is a prominent figure in the film industry. He is best known for his leading roles in several films by renowned Polish director Andrzej Wajda. Olbrychski's notable works include "The Promised Land" (1975), in which he portrayed Karol Borowiecki, and "Bolero" (1981), where he played Karl Kremer. He has also made significant contributions to international cinema, notably appearing as Oleg Vasilyevich Orlov, a defector and spymaster, alongside Angelina Jolie in the Hollywood film "Salt" (2010). More recently, Olbrychski lent his voice to the character of Old Man on the Train – Behemot in the 2020 film "Kill It and Leave This Town". He has also appeared in "Winter's Daughter" (2011), playing the role of Waldeks Opa.
