Hisako Takihana was born on March 4, 1906 in Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. Takihana appeared in several Japanese films during the 1950s and 1960s, contributing to the country’s post-war cinema landscape. Among these was The Betrothed in 1957, a drama that became part of her known filmography. The role marked one of her early credits in a period when Japanese cinema was expanding its narrative styles and themes.
In the following decade, Takihana took part in The Gambler's Code in 1961, credited as Otowa. The film, set against a backdrop of personal and moral conflict, featured her in a supporting role.
