Gen Shimizu, born on January 1, 1907, in Tokyo, Japan, was a notable figure in the film industry. He is recognized for his roles in several films, primarily as a character actor. Shimizu's career spanned over two decades, with his first credited role in Akira Kurosawa's "Stray Dog" in 1949, where he played the character of Police Inspector Nakajima. He continued to work with Kurosawa, appearing in "High and Low" (1963) as the Chief Physician. Shimizu's filmography includes a variety of roles, such as Yasuda in "Thirst for Love" (1966) and Yoshizawa in "The Militarists" (1970). Some of his other notable works include "The Mysterians" (1957), "Satan's Sword: The Dragon God" (1960), and "The Storm" (1956).
